The controversial former AIDS ambassador Joyce Dzidzor Mensah revealed on Delay show hosted by Deloris Frimpong Manso aka Delay that she has once taken an antiretroviral drug.
An antiretroviral drug is used in the management of HIV/AIDS to control HIV infection. There are several classes of antiretroviral agents that act on different stages of the HIV life-cycle.
Joyce Dzidzor Mensah who previously claimed to be HIV Positive and later changed her status after falling our with Ghana AIDS Commission as AIDS ambassador stated that she used to take HIV drugs but not as a patient with the virus.
In an exclusive interview with Delay on Delay show, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah said she exposed the Ghana AIDS Commission after they failed to honour their numerous promises.
She hinted that, if not because of the fallout she wouldn’t have come out to disclose her HIV status.
However, after making such claims, Joyce Mensah accused the media of spreading fake news which caused her much embarrassment, without properly investigating issues before the reportage.
“Ghanaian journalists are sometimes lazy. When people are about to make certain ‘moves’, you go on behind the person and investigate” Joyce Dzidzor Mensah said.
But Delay dismissed her allegation by querying her on the inconsistencies of her own reportage.
Delay said, “We can’t investigate someone like you because you are inconsistent in your accounts. You claim you have HIV/AIDS today and deny later, your storyline is inconsistent”.
