Second Lady Samira Bawumia joined Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of World Health Organization, Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Jens Frølich Holte, State Secretary for International Development for Norway, Kandeh Yumkella, MP, Sierra Leone, Diplomats, Government Officials and Heads of International Agencies at the High Level Plenary Session on Cleaning the World’s Air: Governance, Economic Incentives and Health Sector Leadership at the First WHO Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health.
The Plenary Session was to outline key policy areas and interventions that can lead us forward in cleaning the world’s air and preventing the adverse impacts of air pollution in a timely manner.
"Reducing air pollution is not only the right thing to do but the smart thing to do. Let us not restrict this conversation to only health but also the impacts of health on the other developmental goals. The cost of action is high but the cost of inaction is even higher", Second Lady Samira Bawumia added.
